About the Project

Guided by the site's inherent characteristics, the overarching concept centers around the integration of 'clouds' as spatial elements. This approach symbolizes the site's pivotal role in bridging diverse communities and various segments of the city; concurrently, the imagery of weightless and buoyant clouds infuses the site with vigor, uplifting the urban vibrancy.

By dissolving the distinct boundaries between the site and its environs, the foundational landscape of the area is rendered more accessible, fostering interactive human engagement. The existing structures — the Cantonese Opera Cultural Exchange Center and the Martial Arts Cultural Exchange Center — are preserved in their original positions. The site is stratified into two tiers, with a lower-level bridge connecting the northern and southern sides, and an upper tier with a circular pathway interlinked to traffic from all directions.

Summary

When I revisited the site in 2021, I was surprised to find that construction had been completed. The fences had disappeared, revealing that the project wasn't for a tram track, as I had initially assumed, but rather for an upcoming subway line. Despite my initial misinterpretation, this experience motivated me to approach a potential challenge with a creative mindset. Throughout this design process, I even ventured into using Blender to craft more intricate structures, providing a valuable opportunity to enhance my Blender skills.
